How do I get an appointment if I have an urgent issue?

Wellington Medical Clinic    Last updated: Feb 2024

If you have an urgent unexpected issue (for example, a bladder infection or an ear infection) you can call first thing in the morning and we usually have a "doctor of the day" who can try to address urgent issues for you, but this is subject to availability. It is generally offered every day of the week except Sunday. Sometimes your family doctor can also fit you in if they have an extra slot. In general, it is acceptable and encouraged for you to contact us first thing in the morning if you believe you have an urgent issue that we can help with in clinic, but we cannot guarantee availability.

Is this a walk-in clinic?

Wellington Medical Clinic    Last updated: Feb 2024

We are NOT a walk-in clinic. We only offer appointments to patients who have a family doctor at Wellington Medical Clinic. If you are not a patient at our clinic, our doctors may still see you on a referral basis or for certain private services. Some examples include: maternity care during pregnancy, consultations for therapeutic abortion, aviation or immigration medical, skin procedures by physician referral, etc. See our services section for more details.
