Wellington Medical Clinic is located on the 4th floor at 1515 Dufferin Crescent across from Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. We are a group of family physicians offering a wide variety of primary care services.
Parking along Dufferin Crescent and in the parkade is paid. Payment is made via the street parking app for stalls along Dufferin, or at the vestibule kiosks at the parkade entrance depending on where you park.

If you have an urgent unexpected issue (for example, a bladder infection or an ear infection) you can call first thing in the morning and we usually have a "doctor of the day" who can try to address urgent issues for you, but this is subject to availability. It is generally offered every day of the week except Sunday. Sometimes your family doctor can also fit you in if they have an extra slot. In general, it is acceptable and encouraged for you to contact us first thing in the morning if you believe you have an urgent issue that we can help with in clinic, but we cannot guarantee availability.
We are NOT a walk-in clinic. We only offer appointments to patients who have a family doctor at Wellington Medical Clinic. Some of our physicians may accept referrals from other physicians for specific private services such as: maternity care during pregnancy up to 6 weeks post partum, consultations for medical abortions, medicals, and skin procedures. We offer access for our clinic patients (patients who have a family doctor at Wellington Medical Clinic), via referral, to our in-office Mental Health Counsellor, Social Worker and Pharmacist. Unfortunately these services are not available to the general public.

Medical Students are trained at Wellington Medical Clinic which is a teaching clinic affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine. You may see medical students working with your family physician during your appointment. These learners are supervised by your family physician and you will be notified of their presence at the time of check-in.
Residents are doctors who have graduated medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. They are completing the final years of advanced medical training that prepares them for independent practice.
